Hedge apples have no noticeable odor, but the bugs hate it. If anyone is looking for a natural way to keep insects out of your kitchen, hedge apples are the way to go. They really work.

I have been getting my Hedge Apples from Thunder Acres for several years and they it was the best purchase I ever made. I burn firewood for heat and I have 2 racks of firewood which as you can imagine was infested with spiders by the time I would go outside and bring it in and then I heard about the Hedge Apples... so I tried it. So I can say almost immediately the spiders left the area... I think I have found 2 spiders in 3 or more years. When I stack the wood, I place about 3 Hedge Apples spacing them on the wood per row.. so usually that is a dozen apples per rack. It has been such a change no spiders. I had a few spiders building webs on the ceiling over the enclosed open patio so I placed 4 hedge apples on a table in the area and within a week no spiders no new webs... they are just gone. I also keep a couple in my closet and one under the sofa, on top of the book case and along the sliding patio door and they work even if they are old, dried out or soft...
They are not poisonous so I feel safe having them around my pets.
